FAQ’s

Are walk ins permitted?

NO. As we are a private function venue, walk ins are strictly not permitted. We host prebooked private functions only.  

What are your operating hours?

We are licenced to host your function between 11:00am and 1:00am

Is there a minimum booking size?

Yes, Playzone is a private function centre for group bookings only. Generally, we have a minimum of 4 guests to make a booking, unless otherwise agreed to.

Are under 18s permitted?

YES! Under 18s are permitted with supervising adults.

Is there a minimum spend?

For guests on an activities package or drinks and activities package there is no minimum spend. You simply pay the per head price and enjoy the venue!

A minimum spend is applicable if your group elects to hire an entire floor exclusively, your own area or a VIP room and do a pay as you go bar or bar tab, rather than a package option.

Minimum spends vary depending on the day your event is held. Please see our web site or contact us for rates.

Are Bucks or Hens parties hosted at the same time as other events?

No. Play Zone is a multipurpose venue, hosting everything from Birthdays and Bar Mitzvahs, small- and large-scale corporate events to hens and bucks parties. However, we do not host Hens and Bucks parties at the same time as other events. 

Do you provide a discount for larger bookings?

Yes! For bookings of 40 and above, if you select a package option you will receive a 10% discount off our package prices.

What are your options for parking?

The is limited free on street parking in Ellis Street and streets surrounding the venue. There is untimed off-street parking located a three minute walk away at the Jam Factory, priced at $7.00 on weekdays after 4pm and $6.00 all day on weekends.

What are your music options?

We have a speaker on each level of PlayZone. You can play your favourite playlists through our speaker or organise your own DJ. Noise limits apply.   

Both our private rooms have their own speaker for your exclusive use.

Am I required to pay a deposit?

Yes. A non-refundable deposit is required to secure the time and date of your booking. The deposit required varies from $200 to $500 depending on the size and date of your booking.  Your deposit is transferable to a different date provided the request to change the date occurs more than 28 days before your scheduled event!

Is there a dance floor?

There is large space for a dance floor on both levels of Playzone!

What are your food options for catering?

Our preferred caterer for events is Fabulous Catering.

We have a partnership with a local pizza restaurant. A selection large pizza can be pre ordered for you on request, including any dietary requirements such as gluten or dairy free. .

Alternatively, you are free to order any catering you wish or bring your own food and set up a grazing table. Our staff will but out tables for your food and are happy to assist in setting up!

Is there a smoking area?

Yes! Playzone does have a smoking area.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

The upper level can be reached via stairs only. The lower level is wheelchair accessible.

Am I able to decorate the venue?

You are free to decorate the venue as you wish!
